Cessna 172 of PIA’s Shaheen Benazir Bhutto Flying Training Academy got crashed earlier today. The pilots are reported to be safe during the incident. The initial reports suggest the engine failure as the main reason of the crash. The location of the crash site is nearly 150 km away from Karachi city near Keti Bandar.

AP-BAJ TYPE C-172 (OPERATOR: MS. PIAC) CROSS COUNTRY TRAINING FLIGHT TO KETI BUNDER. INSTRUCTOR PILOT CAPT. KHUWAJA RAEES TRAINEE PILOT ASAD.
ACTUAL TIME OF DEPARTURE 0910 PST. PERSONS ON BOARD 02.
AT TIME 0955PST PILOT REPORTED LOST OF RPM AND MADE FORCED LANDING NEARBY .
LAST POSITION OBSERVED ON RADAR WAS RADIAL 156 AND DISTANCE 47 NM FROM KARACHI.
AT TIME 1004PST PILOT MR. KHUWAJA CALLED AT ACC AND REPORTED THAT BOTH THE PILOTS WERE SAFE AND AIRCRAFT WAS BADLY DAMAGED. RCC ACTIVATED, OPERATOR , POLICE CONTROL, PMSA AND COAST GUARD INFORMED.
